Toddler Lead Guide in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US
We currently have an opening for a Toddler Lead Guide in our school. Child Garden Montessori School offers unique learning opportunities for children in a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment. With a Montessori curriculum and focus on early childhood education and development, we strive to provide the best foundation for children to build upon for future success. Our school is located in the beautiful Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis behind the Basilica building, with opportunities for walks to the park, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, the Minneapolis Farmers Market and other parts of the neighborhood.
Role Description
This is a full-time position for a Montessori Toddler Guide located in Minneapolis, MN. The Toddler guide will prepare the Montessori classroom environment and present the Montessori materials to children ages 16 months to 3 years. In addition, they will provide a safe and nurturing environment to ensure every child’s wellbeing and engage with parents or caregivers to keep them abreast of their child’s progress. The lead Toddler Guide will direct and collaborate with a team of 3 assistants throughout the day.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field.
Montessori Toddler Training preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Montessori Toddler Teacher or in a similar role
Thorough understanding of child development principles and a commitment to child-centered approach to teaching
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with children, parents and caregivers
Patience, creativity and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of toddlers
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with child observation and assessment tools to inform and individualize learning experiences for toddlers
Ability to work Collaboratively as a team
Familiarity with state licensing requirements for early childhood education
