A recent graduate of the CGMS Infant-Toddler course, Kristin Alexander, was accepted into a special program at Johns Hopkins. The program is called Urban Teachers, and applicants must complete a rigorous two-step process for consideration.
Urban Teachers was specifically designed to prepare teachers to better understand and “seek solutions to the biggest issues facing schools today.” Graduates will use researched-based curricula in an effort to close the achievement gap and address the social and emotional needs of children and their families.
Urban Teachers participants receive a Master of Science in Education degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Education, which is ranked as one of the best in the nation.
We are so proud that Kristin is building on her Montessori certification to do this important work. –Terri Sherril, Associate Director of Infant Toddler Studies, CGMS
