From Montessori Family Alliance: “It is with great sadness that we grieve the passing of a very talented and kind-hearted Montessori educator and musical composer Sanford Jones. He has composed several songbooks for children and created a number of educational materials through a Montessori lens. His repertoire of thirteen children’s operas has been performed over 500 times. In 2012, he was presented with a “Wisdom of the Elders” award from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education in recognition of a lifetime of dedicated service to Montessori education. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May his memory be a blessing and his music and materials continue to transform lives.”

Oh so many years ago I met Sanford Jones at a Seattle workshop. I used his materials in my long teaching career. Now, I’m trying to locate his book Children’s Songs for my granddaughter. Is it published anywhere? How can I get a copy for her?
