Who we are

As we are celebrating our 36th year, Greenville Montessori School is seeking applicants for consideration to replace our retiring Head of School.

Where we are

We are located in the fast-growing cultural hub of Eastern North Carolina. Located just inland off the North Carolina coast, East of I-95, over 20 parks grace the landscape of Greenville and Pitt County. So if you’re an outdoor enthusiast, you’ll find enough adventure and scenic beauty here to fill up the canvas of your days, and plenty of like-minded people who share your respect for the grandeur of nature, the intoxicating fragrance of our Magnolia trees, picnicking under the shade of oaks, fishing at sundown, or hiking down a path that leads you not to the trail’s end, but to the conclusion that this is where you belong. If local travel entices you, we are located just 85 miles east of Raleigh, 87 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean, 157 miles from Richmond VA, and 265 miles south of Washington DC. We are as easily accessible to the beach as the mountains!

Authentic Montessori

Our Montessori school administers student programs and services consistent with the values and teaching styles of an authentic Montessori approach. As such, we adhere to Dr. Montessori’s understanding of children’s natural learning tendencies as they unfold in “prepared environments” for multi-age groups (3-6 year olds, 6-9 year olds, 9-12 year olds, and 12-14 year olds).

Ideal applicants would have a Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four-year college or university, Montessori credentials from an accredited Montessori Teacher Training Program and a combination of education and experience in leading a school.
