Primary Lead Teacher in Nashville, Tennessee, US

The Revere Jewish Montessori Preschool in Nashville Tennessee is part of the Chabad of Nashville campus, located in the Bellevue area of Nashville near the Warner Parks.

We are tucked away on 9 acres overlooking a lush, wooded area. Our outdoor area features a beautiful custom playscape. The  natural space includes a wooden bird watching structure, a musical stage with drums and chimes, a framed outdoor painting canvas, and a handmade serene creek complete with blue marbled stones that flow into a beautiful rock garden. We give children a starting point in which to use their imagination in countless ways.

School calendar is 11 months and school is not in session during Jewish holidays.

Position Summary:

The Primary Lead Teacher works as the lead teacher in the full-day Primary program. The Teacher creates a positive learning environment guided by the Montessori Primary philosophies and curriculum. The Teacher addresses each child’s development needs, continues to move them along the developmental continuum, and ensures that all students are prepared for Elementary school. The Teacher communicates well and frequently with parents as well as colleagues and administration.

Job Specific Responsibilities:
• Perform duties as the lead teacher in the Primary classroom plus directs the work and activities of the Assistant Teacher.
• Plan and implement daily classroom activities and events through careful observation and planning for each child’s development.
• Ensures and creates a positive learning environment guided by Montessori philosophies and curriculum, maintaining high standards of Montessori practice.
• Ensures that all Kindergarten curriculum follows State requirements ensuring that all children are prepared to move into an Elementary program.
• Maintains a nurturing and patient stature to facilitate a content, calm and positive atmosphere.
• Assumes responsibility for communication with parents.
• Collaborates with colleagues and administration.
• Ensures that all state and local requirements are met for the supervision of the children.
• Updates and maintains information in the school’s Montessori Brightwheel system for timely communication with parents and record keeping.
• Ensuring that the environment is properly equipped and organized to meet the children’s needs.
• Trains the Assistant Teacher to care for the environment, care for the storage of materials, work with the children, and to support the Lead Teacher.
• Attend scheduled student conferences, staff meetings, and other meetings as identified.

Qualifications and Experience:
The Lead Teacher must have experience working with preschool and Kindergarten aged children.Lead teacher must have Montessori certification from a MACTE accredited institution such as AMI, AMS or IMC.

 The teacher must be able to demonstrate effective classroom skills and good communication skills.
